HECO EV Fast-Charging Station
For customers that are unable to charge EVs at home, they can charge their EVs at Hawaiian Electric’s DC Fast Chargers or other publicly available charging stations.
Commercial customers who are interested to host Hawaiian Electric public chargers at their site can contact GoEV@hawaiianelectric.com.
Below are the time-of-use rates for Hawaiian Electric’s DC Fast Chargers:
Oahu:
Time-of-use period Price per kilowatt-hour (kWh)
Mid Day (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) $0.49/kWh
On-Peak (5 p.m. - 10 p.m.) $0.57/kWh
Off-Peak (10 p.m. - 9 a.m.) $0.54/kWh
This program allows customers to shift charging to off-peak hours when electricity costs are lower, potentially saving money.
Important Notes:
Hawaiian Electric's fast chargers support both CHAdeMO and CCS connectors.
Charging rates will vary depending on the charger's power level (50 kW or 75 kW) and the vehicle's charging capabilities.
The charging rate is not constant throughout the session; it decreases as the battery fills.
Some EVs will terminate a DC fast charge session before the battery is full to maintain battery specifications.

How to Use Salt Lake Shopping Center’s Hawaiian Electric's Fast Chargers:
Salt Lake Shopping Center EV Charging Etiquette
To ensure a smooth and safe experience with our fast chargers, we've outlined some charging etiquette tips:
Only park in a designated charging space when you are actively charging.
While there is no time limit for active charging, we ask that you promptly unplug and move your vehicle once your charge is finished.
If others are waiting, consider wrapping up once your EV is 80% charged. Most EVs slow the charging rate once it's 80% full.
Consider charging more frequently for shorter sessions to allow more people to use the fast charger.
Do not unplug other EVs from charging stations unless they've left a note giving permission to do so.
Please return the plug and cord to their proper place after using them.
